Un'Indagine esplorativa sulla conoscenza del cCMV tra i loro logopedista italiani.

Congenital Cytomegalovirus (cCMV) infection is one of the leading causes of childhood disability. International literature highlights that knowledge regarding this clinical condition is currently lacking among healthcare professionals. Therefore, the studies analysed reveal the need to ensure more and better training and information opportunities on this topic. To explore this topic further we decided to carry out a survey on the Italian territory to verify the level of knowledge regarding cCMV in the population of speech therapists. The survey was carried out by administering an ad hoc questionnaire composed of three sections: participant’s personal data, information relating to the performance of the profession and knowledge regarding the clinical condition. The questionnaire was distributed during the month of July 2022. The results of the study highlight how there is a superficial level of knowledge regarding congenital cCMV infection among Italian speech therapists.
